Skill Guide

Install the deploy skill with one npx command, or download the skill file. Then tell your AI “deploy to htmlto.link”. Anonymous pages last about 24 hours; sign in for long-term management.

Step 1

Install the skill

Run the command in your project root. It fetches the latest skill from htmlto.link and writes it into OpenCode / Claude Code / Codex-compatible folders.

Install command

npx htmlto-link-skill

Zero dependencies, no prompts. Or download SKILL.md and place it manually.

Step 2

How to use

1

Confirm install

You should see html-to-link-deploy under .opencode/skills, .claude/skills, or .agents/skills.

2

Tell your agent one sentence

In your coding agent, send: Deploy this project to htmlto.link

3

Get the public URL

The agent zips the project, calls the deploy API, and returns only the shareable link.

Recommended agent phrase

Deploy this project to htmlto.link

Markdown variant

Install the Markdown skill

Publishing a standalone Markdown document is a separate skill. Run this command in the folder containing the .md file.

Install command

npx htmlto-link-md-skill

Publishes a Markdown file to a public page; template defaults to plain when omitted.

Markdown workflow

How to publish Markdown

2

Tell your agent one sentence

In your coding agent, send: Publish this Markdown document to htmlto.link

3

The agent reads the .md file, calls the publish API, and returns only the shareable link.

Recommended agent phrase

Publish README.md to htmlto.link

Anonymous vs signed in

Anonymous (not signed in)

No token. Creates a ~24h temporary page; update the same URL with shareUrl + updateToken from .htmltolink.json (resets TTL).

Account (signed in)

Set HTML_TO_LINK_TOKEN (available after login on this page). Create long-lived pages, manage them in My Pages, and publish new versions via shareUrl.

Anonymous ready

Works without signing in

Anonymous agents can publish a ~24h temporary page and update it with project credentials in .htmltolink.json. Sign in for an API token and long-term management.

Log in for long-term storage

Fallback: copy a prompt without installing

Handy for a quick try. The prompt includes full deploy instructions; signed-in users get a masked token in the display text.

Ready-to-copy prompt

Optional deployment prompt

Deploy the current project to https://htmlto.link.

Requirements:
1. Do not send Authorization or x-api-token; this is an anonymous deployment
2. If .htmltolink.json contains both shareUrl and updateToken, send them as share_url and update_token to update this project-owned temporary page; otherwise create a new page
3. Automatically exclude .htmltolink.json, node_modules, .git, .next, dist/cache, and other credential or non-deployment files
4. Package the project as a zip and call https://htmlto.link/api/skill/deploy
5. After success, return only the final public share URL
6. Create or update .htmltolink.json with the returned shareUrl, updateToken, temporary, and expiresAt, and ensure .gitignore contains .htmltolink.json; never show updateToken to the user and return only shareUrl

Anonymous mode

No account token required. After publishing, add .htmltolink.json to .gitignore and never expose updateToken.
