Information we collect
When you sign up, log in, upload site content, purchase an extension, or visit our website, we may collect information you provide directly, such as your username, email address, authentication details, order information, and deployment-related configuration data.
To provide analytics and maintain security, we may also process technical and log data such as visit time, IP address, browser details, referrer information, and other access-related metadata.
Browser extension data
When you use the htmlto.link browser extension (HTML to URL Publisher), we only process content you choose to publish: HTML or Markdown text that you paste, select, or publish from an AI code block, plus an optional API token and custom API server URL that you configure.
The extension stores settings (API server URL, token) and a local publish-history list in your browser so you can copy links again. That local data stays on your device by default. When you publish, the content is sent to htmlto.link servers to create a public share URL.
The extension does not read unrelated browsing history, does not monitor your clicks or keystrokes, and does not sell your data to third parties. The clipboard is used only to write the share URL after a successful publish so you can paste it easily.
How we use information
We use information to operate the core service, including creating and managing your pages, generating share links, handling authentication, processing payments and renewals, displaying analytics, and performing security monitoring, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting when needed.
We may also use aggregated or de-identified usage data to improve product performance, reliability, and user experience. We do not sell user data to third parties, and we do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the single purpose of the product.
Hosted content and deployment data
Files, ZIP archives, site assets, code you paste or publish via the extension, and related metadata are used to generate and host your published page. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to upload and publish that content.
We do not use hosted content for unrelated public display, but we may access, restrict, or remove content when required by law, for abuse investigation, or for safety and platform protection.
Payments and third-party services
Some payment, authentication, storage, analytics, and notification capabilities may be provided by third-party services. We share limited information with those providers only as necessary to deliver the service.
Those providers may process data under their own privacy terms and policies.
Data retention and security
We retain relevant data for as long as necessary to provide the service, operate the business, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. After that period, data may be deleted or anonymized using reasonable processes. Guest/temporary share links may expire and be cleaned up after a shorter period.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain account information and hosted data, and you may contact us with privacy-related questions.
You may also stop using the service at any time, but some features may no longer function if required information is not provided. Uninstalling the browser extension removes its local settings and history according to your browser’s extension-removal behavior.
Policy updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational needs. Updated versions will be posted on this page, and we may notify you through the service when appropriate.
